This is why I rock these at the mo.

Nabil Elderkin has directed a web video to promote Jeremy Scott’s collection for Adidas. The video serves as an animated lookbook for Scott’s upcoming collection and plays on the dual themes of Africa and the early 90’s that inspired the apparel. The backing track by Esau Mwamwaya (featuring MIA & Santigold) reinforces the playful mood of the video and the collection.

To me its a reminder of how playful things like music, fashion and art can be.

My last pair were pink ; )

This is how union should be played. Its a scrap. The Europeans haven’t forgotten it. That is why they win the world cups. There is nothing wrong with telling your opponent how much you enjoyed their mothers company last night in a scrum, break down or roll over try. This is a battle of wits, strength and mental ability. To put this little ’storm in a tea cup’ into perspective I have been involved in an all in brawl on that field that would have seen 500+ AK Grammar (with an ‘ar’) students hurting each other. When you add young testosterone in the mix this is bound to happen. Its just young men sharpening their claws. Perhaps the ALL BLACKS should watch and learn. The only difference is there was a camera on hand to film this.

Today if you want to see good rugby go down to your local school field and watch a game between to top schools. Hint. Watch it from behind the posts not like TV. You will really see the plays open up. Its a great game that has been bogged down in branding and safety.
At least when you turn on the Monday news its mostly the league guys that have beaten their girlfriends, glassed or punched some innocent by stander etc… Now that is a boring game!

I am going to coin this one “don’t let the proliferation of technology” seem like this is bigger than it is.

It was good to see the elders step in and sort this out though.

I recently had a brief moan on the crusty sandwich about design. Modern ‘design’ is mostly bad. A portion of it is mind blowing. A lot of it is un necessary. The best is simple, functional and makes you say “why did I not think of that.” It could be argued that the key is a dying technology. Well what better way to celebrate its history? I have work keys, house keys, car keys, letter box keys and safe keys. I would like to say I have boat keys but I think that that may be a few years off. Keys are a pain in the pocket. If you carry your keys in the back pocket I guess you could say they are a pain in the arse! This as a design solution is not perfect but it does address a real problem. It identifies which key is for what door. The blank key system they have chosen can also be purchased in a light weight colour coded blank adding another useful layer to this design solution. Although I can see no mention of this on their web site.

The only fault I can find with this is there is not a lot of selection. I guess like any start up they have had to start some where. Well done.

Stat key company.

I am going to coin this one a ‘3/4 solution to a real problem’. It gets three quarters because if they were serious about design solutions they would have addressed the whole key/lock situation.

Think I am being to tough? What if there was no light to see the key or the lock?

Looks like the English summer is doing its best to mimic the Queensland winter. Maybe I won’t pack that wooly jacket. Yeah right!

To be honest it will be a welcome respite from the kitchen. I can’t wait!
