For a while you may have noticed I have had posts that fell in the otherside category of kblog. It has been an idea I have been tossing around in my head since University.

Initially I had an idea for a book that contained snippets of my life in industrial kitchens and hospitality in general. It was to be like kitchen confidential only a lot broader in scope. Less crass, more crass, more detail. Just more…

I guess I will try to make kblog more of my life outside the kitchen.

So jam it in your rss feader.

the otherside is here !

“A person who is nice to you but rude to the waiter, or to others, is not a nice person.”

A great article about how the smart ones are always watching the dumb ones.

Let me tell you what happens when the kitchen finds out a customer is being rude to that cute little waitress we all covet…
First of all your order will lose all ranking. We have been doing this so long we know just how far we can push you. Next your meal will be late… and will contain about as much love as a pillow filled with wet paper.

“Sitting in the chair of CEO makes me no better of a person than the forklift operator in our plant,” she says. “If you treat the waiter, or a subordinate, like garbage, guess what? Are they going to give it their all? I don’t think so.”

Siki Giunta, CEO, Managed Objects

Interesting to note that the CEOs interviewed all started in the service industry.

“The whole point of these traditional torture sessions is to mollify the traditional masses and slop it out we will. Half the portion, twice the price, ahhhh there’s IS something redeeming in these swill fests.”

Hippity Hop For Jesus

And slop it out we will ! Oh yes we will. While taking the double time and a half we get paid !
